I’m Ellie Guest, myofascial release therapist here to help you live better in your body.

You've likely made your way here after exploring treatments to keep yourself active or get yourself back to doing the things you love. I hope I can help you do that with myofascial release therapy (MFR) treatments!

Through the sessions we explore what's happening for you, taking an holistic approach to the symptoms you're experiencing, looking for and treating the causes of discomfort and restriction of movement. Short term you will benefit from pain relief and increased mobility. Longer term you will know how to manage symptoms and keep yourself moving with rehab activities to support your recovery.

I'm one of only a handful of advanced MFR practitioners in the country. I have a background in personal training, massage therapy and coaching and I'm also a keen hiker, runner and cyclist with a passion for the outdoors. After many years living in severe physical discomfort I know what it's like when you can't do the activities you love. I also know what it's like to work through that, both physically and mentally, to get back to living a fulfilling active life. I wrap up all my knowledge, skills and experience into the best treatments possible for you.

My Philosophy

Everybody deserves to live well in their body: this means something different for all of us, but I’m here to listen to what you’re experiencing in your body and what you’d like to achieve through treatment, then work with you to get there.

Let’s focus on you as a whole person: your body is a reflection of what’s going on in all areas of your life - what you eat, how you sleep, how stressed you are, how active you are. Treatments are just one part of the puzzle and there may be small tweaks you can make to your lifestyle that make your body feel so much better.

You are your own expert: you live in your body all the time, you’re best placed to say how it feels, what changes through treatment, what you intuitively feel is going on. We work together through treatments based on what and how you feel.

Work with your body, not against it: working intuitively to sense what’s happening and going with it, not against it (and importantly not triggering a physiological stress response). I believe that a slower and more gentle approach to treatment yields more effective and longer lasting results.

These key points inform how we work together, alongside my personal values of honesty, authenticity, connection, learning and fun.

5 things about me…

  1. My happy place is being active in the outdoors. I love long distance, slow travel either cycle touring or hiking. One of my favourite moments was cycling through the giant redwoods whilst travelling down the Pacific Coast highway (that’s me in the photo!).

  2. I’m a retired Army Officer. I spent 10 years in the AGC(SPS) serving with different units around the world. It shaped me into the person I am and definitely gave me can do, positive attitude to life.

  3. I have a fluffy madam of a cat called Twiglet. She arrived as a scruffy stray 6 years ago and has been bringing me joy ever since. If you’re lucky you might see her if you come for a treatment.

  4. When I’m not seeing myofascial release clients I have a role coaching senior leaders and running leadership and coaching skills workshops to socially driven organisations around the world.

  5. Since moving to Malvern 18 months ago my favourite thing to do is volunteer on conservation days with the Malvern Hills Trust, looking after the hills and finding secret new spaces to have picnics.
